Belfast wordsmith Owens set for Prague Micro Festival, official book launch and new work in 2027

Belfast writer, Christopher Owens, has a packed few months ahead with an appearance ar the prestigious Prague Micro Festival, the official launch of Soviet Hotel Dressing Gown m and the publication of a new work 'Man Lying In the Holylands'

As previously posted Owens will officially launch Soviet Hotel Dressing Gown on November 27 at the Accidental Theatre, Belfast.

Before that he will be appearing at the Prague Micro Festival (PMF), a three day event featuring a cornucopia of content.

The Czech Rebublics capital hosts the annual festival fusing contemporary writing, art, film, theory, dance, music & performance in a rich polylogue of forms.

PMF is not only an arts space but remains integrated within local Prague culture, as a multilingual environment fostering critical cultural dialogue. The PMF originated as the successor of the Prague International Poetry Festival (2004) — which welcomed readings from more than 40 writers, over 20 countries and was founded by Louis Armand with Pam Brown, Phil Hammial, & David Vichnar.

Owens said: "The focus of this year's PMF is the ideologies & aesthetics of ERASURE / ERASURISM.

"I'm delighted to be reading at it as well as making available my other works for attendees".

.As if that wasn't enough Owens has announced that his fifth book 'Man Lying in the Holylands' will be published on 26th February 2027.

In his own words: "It's Christmas Day. Our subject has missed the last bus to Derry and will subsequently be spending the day alone. Things can't be that bad, can they?

"Combining mundanity and surrealism, pathos and humour as well as ruminating on how his life has turned out, it'll be a Christmas Day that won't be forgotten in a hurry."

A cheery tale, no doubt, to look forward to this coming festive season...
